This was a cool one we made as a promotional game for Millipede. It features the local train station, with authentic signage!
We also showed off some of our cool remote control technology to let you flick ninja stars directly from your phone into your computer screen. Try it, its free, fun, it works and its really easy.
Big nods to original shinobi arcade bonus level and some mortal kombat toasty cameos by the Millipede staff and dog. I got to do some more game music and the boss did some great vocals for in game sounds.
CityGT was a great idea from JWT advertising agency for VicRoads. The game was a full 3D driving game released for iPhone, along with full publicity for the launch. There was a special launch event using technology we’d developed to allow players to play the game on the big screen in Federation Square using their iPhone as the controller.
Check out the launch video on the site and download the game for free.
Anyway the whole thing was a secret safety message. While you were racing you would receive a “phone call”. If you answered the call the car would crash and you would receive a safety message about talking on the phone while you drive.
We used Unity3D to create the driving game, both the iPhone and big screen version and I developed the technology in-house for the remote control link up. The whole thing was a huge event, lots of fun to be a part of but extremely nerve wracking on the day (wifi issues, aargh!). The event made primetime news on every channel and we won some awards, yay.
